SUMMER COMPUTER COURSES IN EASTERN ANATOLIA

Dear donor,

KODLAMACA level 1 & 2 computer coding courses were completed in 31 ÇYDD branches in 20 different cities and we are getting ready for our summer courses.

As the KODLAMACA course is developing fast, we formed 3 administrative groups covering the Istanbul region, the Izmir region and rest of Anatolia. Istanbul and Izmir regions are leading with 10 centers with regular courses but what really excites us is the demand coming from far eastern towns of Turkey.

Ardahan Göle has 40 students all ready for a 10 day summer course on advanced coding which is a program we recently designed for high school students . We are forming volunteer trainer groups who will travel to Göle by plane or by the Orient Express, an experience in itself for our volunteer trainers.

At the same time Dikme village near Kars also has 30 village students ready for a 5 day Level 1 coding course. A different volunteer trainer group is being formed to train these village school children. Both courses are planned for the second half of July.

In the meantime Defne province of southeastern town Antakya has already completed their summer course.

We try to answer these demands with mobile volunteer trainer groups carrying  tablets from Istanbul but we would like to equip some eastern branches like Kars with laptop computers to continue regular courses in winter too.

We are looking forward to your support to be able to buy new computers to extend the Project  to these disadvantaged eastern towns.

Thank you for supporting us in our efforts to reach out to these disadvantaged young people..

Kindly yours,
