Connected with the world

The pandemic that has affected the world for a year now has changed the way in which our children and adolescents continue their studies. In Colombia, schools have not been able to open their facilities and for this reason classes have been conducted virtually.

Currently, at the CRAN Foundation we have 47 children in school who require equipment and a good internet connection to fulfill their academic obligations. Thanks to our Connected to the World project, we have obtained computers that have facilitated the children's access and attendance to virtual classes.

We were also able to install wiring for internet service throughout the foundation, providing coverage in the library, toy library, children's houses on the second floor, kiosks and the administrative area. The installation of the wiring allows a better distribution of the spaces destined for virtual classes as well as the spaces designated for homework and other school activities of the children within the virtual modality.

Although it is true that we have greatly improved the children's school processes with this technological update, we still need equipment and a computer center for a better performance of the children who will have the necessary tools to learn in an effective and fun way.

La pandemia que ha afectado al mundo ya hace un año, ha cambiado la forma en que nuestros niños, niñas y adolescentes continúan sus estudios. En Colombia los colegios no han podido abrir sus instalaciones y por tal motivo las clases se han llevado a cabo de manera virtual.

Actualmente, en la Fundación CRAN tenemos 47 niños escolarizados que requieren de equipos y de una buena conexión a internet para cumplir con sus obligaciones académicas. Gracias a nuestro proyecto Conectados con el mundo, hemos conseguido computadores que han facilitado el acceso y asistencia a clases virtuales por parte de los niños.

También logramos hacer el cableado para contar con servicio de internet en toda la fundación, dando cobertura en la biblioteca, ludoteca, casas de los niños en el primer piso, kioskos y el área administrativa. La instalación del cableado permite una mejor distribución de los espacios destinados para las clases virtuales así como los espacios designados para hacer tareas y demás actividades escolares de los niños y niñas dentro de la modalidad virtual.

Si bien es cierto que hemos mejorado mucho los procesos escolares de los niños en con esta actualización tecnológica, seguimos necesitando equipos y montar un centro de cómputo para un mejor desempeño de los niños quienes contaran con las herramientas necesarias para aprender de una forma eficaz y divertida.
