Thank you for your donation to our Conservation Education project. With your support, David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF) can continue to fund a variety of ground-based conservation partners across Africa and Asia which reach thousands of children, securing a safe future for endangered wildlife.
While funding a variety of bush camps, eco workshops, and nature clubs around the world teaching children to appreciate and care for the wildlife they live alongside, we also provide conservation education to children in the UK.
Our Education Manager, Jo Elphick, travels across the country several times a week to visit schools and clubs to hold workshops and talks about our work in conservation, and the importance of protecting wildlife and particularly endangered species.
The feedback we receive from children, teachers and parents alike is overwhelmingly positive, with educators using the opportunity to embed messages about caring for the environment and conservation into their daily classes.
Jo successfully reaches thousands of children every year through these workshops, but also spreads the message internationally through our renowned children’s art competition, Global Canvas.
The competition welcomes entries from any group of children from across the world, such as schools, art clubs and organisations, asking them to find creative ways to make incredible displays on a particular subject – this year the theme is ‘Endangered’.
Hundreds of children participate each year from a wide range of countries reaching across the world, and the team at DSWF is always blown away by the enthusiasm and talents of those who participate.
Entries are now open, to find out more click here.
With your support, DSWF can continue to find these educations initiatives which ensure that the children of today can grow up to become the conservationists of tomorrow, protecting endangered wildlife across the world.
