Thank you for choosing to protect endangered species by supporting conservation education in Africa and Asia.
In this update, I would like to tell you a little bit more about our work with Chimpanzee Conservation Centre (CCC) in Guinea.
With your support, the CCC Education team have been able to develop awareness campaigns and community projects in High Niger National Park. Covid-19 meant that many activities for 2020 had to be adapted.
Since June, the rainy season and the impacts of Covid-19 resulted in all schools remaining shut and most of the activities were paused or postponed. Despite these challenges, two awareness activities went ahead, with the story of an orphaned chimpanzee reaching almost 100 children.
New awareness classes about Covid-19 were created, as well as courses on garbage management.
Thanks to your donation, education projects like these have been able to adapt so that they can continue, despite local restrictions. This will allow more people to understand and be aware of conservation efforts, giving endangered species a greater chance of survival.
