Over the past few months, we’ve been focusing on bringing environmental education to life in our community. Our team has created hands-on, interactive experiences designed to spark curiosity, awareness, and a sense of responsibility towards the Ridgway’s Hawks and birds of prey. Through engaging presentations and practical activities, students have had the chance to see firsthand the important role raptors play in keeping ecosystems healthy.
A highlight of these visits has been our ambassador hawks, whose presence never fails to capture attention and create unforgettable moments. Schools across the region have welcomed the opportunity to meet these birds up close, leaving students inspired and deepening their respect for wildlife. These encounters help build lasting connections between the community and nature, nurturing a culture of care that goes far beyond the classroom.
In other news, some of our team members had the opportunity to attend the Raptor Research Foundation Conference in Costa Rica last month, where they presented on the Ridgway’s Hawk Project. Events like these are excellent opportunities to connect with fellow biologists and learn from other conservation projects around the region and the world.
Looking ahead, we’re thrilled for the next season. We’ll be welcoming students from MIT to collaborate with the community of Los Limones, working together to find solutions to local social challenges.
Our teams are already busy preparing, practicing climbing skills, engaging with community members, and making sure everything is ready for the exciting initiatives on the horizon.
