Because of all the lionfish derby developed by Mundo Azul Foundation, at the Motagüilla site, located in front of the river mouth of the Motagua River in Punta de Manabique in the coast of Guatemala, and as part of the support provided to the women from El Quetzalito Village in regard to techniques on how to cook lionfish, a Dinner Gala took place in August-2016 in Guatemala City.
The women from El Quetzalito Village, with the help of a famous Guatemalan chef Milly (Titi) Bruderer, presented their lionfish dishes to all who wanted to try such exquisite dish.
Not only did the women surprised us yet again with the lionfish as the main course, but because of Mundo Azul Foundation´s determination and our support, they were able to raise funds to donate 5 scholarships for one year to students of El Quetzalito Village.
In addition to placing The Quetzalito Village on the map because of its great cooks, the women established a very good relation with a well-known Guatemalan chef that offered to keep teaching them innovative cooking techniques.
All of this has been possible thanks to your involvement and support.
A big thank you from
The MAR Fund Team
