Thank you friends for supporting our various initiatives to help those in need and distress. During Covid19, your timely contribution was life-saving in some instances.
In this report, we would like to highlight an instance in which your donations rebuilt a life.
Vani lost her mother when she was 8 years old. For a long time, she was supported by her father and paternal grandmother. The grandmother contracted Covid19 hospitalized with severe breathing issues for a long time.
Using the donations raised through this campaign, Sphoorti provided an oxygen cylinder to her for 5 days followed by an Oxygen Concentrator. Her health stabilized and she somehow got back to leading a normal life. We also provided Vani and her father groceries for 3 months, a mobile phone and a used laptop for her to continue her studies. Later the grandmother provided a lot of care when Vani was infected with Covid19.
After 2 years of struggle and determination, Vani recently completed her Engineering in Electronics and secured a job in a reputed company in Hyderabad.
What seemed a normal gesture during Covid19 actually saved an entire family. Vani will now be able to take care of her kith and kin and ensure they break out of the cycle of poverty.
