Current Situation
Tamil Nadu and Puducherry is struggling with second wave as you all know; both the governments are facing hardship to meet the high demand of support needed for its people. Even though, the government makes wide range of care and support along with private medical college hospitals, they may not be able to comply with the huge number of people turn to be positive. There is a huge demand for providing oxygen to the needy. People are dying because there is no oxygen. Lack of oxygen at an early stage unfortunately creates a flywheel effect where the patient gets more serious and thereby puts a further strain on the system. We want to break this cycle by quickly treating patients with oxygen and helping them recover. Hence, we want to support for those who need oxygen by providing oxygen concentrators.
Doctors, Nurses and frontline workers can hardly take a break and they too need to come back to their family and children. We could see that the font line supporters succumb to the pandemic
What we are trying to do
Prime Trust, a charity based at Puducherry is collaborating with local hospitals, medical colleges and volunteers to bring a tangible impact. The cost of each Oxygen Generator costs Rs. 72,800/- For 20 machines it works out to Rs.14,56,000/- (which includes GST of 12%)
What we have done so far
Since, last year, Prime Trust was able to support with sanitary kit for more than 2000 people and dry ration for the workers of unorganized sector. Prime Trust collaborated with well-wishers and NGOs in identifying need and provided relief material.
