Distribution of micro-loans to the members of SHGs in Puducherry
Formation of SHGs, providing micro loans, linkage to the banks, and offering vocational training skills are core activities of Prime trust. Prime Trust raises support through GlobalGiving to empower women in poverty through a micro-credit program.
Microcredit is a common form of microfinance that involves a minimal loan given to individuals to help them become self-employed or grow a small business. These borrowers tend to be low-income individuals, especially from less developed countries
The Founder Director, Mr S.M. Arasu, along with Mr Denish Kumar, Country Director, LACIM, France were present while disbursing cheques to the women who are willing to start their own business or to invest money with their existing business.
A sum of Rs. 20,000/- to each member was distributed. A small session was conducted on how to use the funds and make a successful business.
