Prime Trust distributes micro credit to the women of Self Help Group
Prime Trust has taken a significant step by distributing microcredit to women belonging to Self Help Group. On November 25, 2023, six women from the Akshaya Punnagai Pookal Self Help Group in Muthialpet received microcredit to enhance their existing small-scale businesses, such as Idli batter production, tailoring, and fish selling.
The distribution event was graced by the Founder and Managing Director of Prime Educational and Social Trust, Puducherry. The ceremony took place at Sishubhavan Play School, Muthialpet where the women had gathered.
This initiative aims to empower women economically, fostering entrepreneurship and self-sustainability. The diverse range of supported occupations, from food production to handicrafts and retail, reflects the inclusive nature of the program. Such initiatives are instrumental in promoting community development, gender equality, and overall socio-economic progress.
