After 2 years of temporary postponement of sewing and tailoring activities (with some short time periods of resuming activities), the Centre Marembo sewing and tailoring workshop is finally re-opened to fully continue its activities!
Since the workshop itself needed a makeover, it went through a renovation phase couple of months prior to its opening. A lot of work was put into, especially putting tiles on the floor, re-painting the walls, and anything noted in the room that need some repairs or installations, such as lighting or the ceiling.
Currently we have new hand-crafted Kitenge products ready for sale at the Centre Marembo giftshop, which is located in Ndera Sector Office, Kigali.
The new products are:
1. Clothes
2. Fans
3. Toiletry bags
Centre Marembo hope to create more products in the following months, as well as have them displayed in other giftshops and hotels, in order to spread awareness of our project that helps young girls and teen mothers to get into education and/or get into jobs to support both themselves and their children.
Please look forward for future updates.
