In 2020, NYF launched two nutrition initiatives in response to COVID-19 — Community Nutrition Kitchens and Lito for Life — to help feed children and families in Nepal. Thanks to your loving support, we’re proud to report back some incredible numbers.
Through our pop-up Community Nutrition Kitchens (a hot lunch program that provided free meals for children in urban areas) we were able to serve over 5,300 nutritious lunches! Though we’ve paused the program to continue our regular nutrition programming, we remain so thankful for your kind support.
The Lito for Life program continues to make a tremendous difference with your generous gifts. Through this program, our nutrition team has prepared and distributed over 2,100 packages of Lito, a “super flour” made of maize, wheat, and soybean, to hard-working children, youth, and families who are at increased risk of malnutrition due to COVID-19. Each packet has made such a difference, and will continue to - thanks to you!
To help us continue providing nutritional support to children and families across Nepal during the COVID-19 crisis, please donate today. Eligible gifts up to $50 (per unique donor per organization) made between today and March 12 will be matched at 50% by GlobalGiving!
