ORG continues to keep a focus on promoting the critical importance of early childhood development as an essential part of our Vision for Education Reform in The Bahamas. In the past months, ORG has been working with Government and Local NGOs to advocate for a greater national effort to help Bahamian children reach their developmental milestones in the first 1000 days of life. Our passion for this work is driven from research that shows that investing in the development of our youngest children generates significant long term benefits for the child, their family and their community.
To support our capacity to have an impact, ORG recently attended the Clinton Global Initiative and trained with international experts on resources and opportunites to stimulate positive cognitive and social development. These learnings will be applied here in the Bahamas to ORG's upcoming initiatives.
ORG is currently rasing funds and mobilizing local volunteers to bring resources and opportunities to our familes and children. First, we are looking to produce a new National Playdate at Home online resource to provide parents in marginilized communities access to high quality learning materials and tools to help them foster development in their young children. Second, As the social and health impact of the COVID-19 pandemic lifts herein The Bahamas, ORG is anxious to re start in-person National Playdate activities for our communities.
ORG will be reaching out for support for tthese projects through the upcoming GlobalGiving Giving Tuesday campaign. We hope you will join us in helping families to offer their children every chance for developmental success!
