Jobs for 1,000 Youth with Fish Farming in Nigeria

By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

Thank you for supporting this project to provide job opportunities for 1,000 young people, including women, through fish farming in Nigeria. Your support will equip youth with skills, starter kits, ponds, and feed, enabling them to earn steady income and build stable, productive lives.

Many young Nigerians face unemployment and limited opportunities, pushing some into crime, gangs, or risky migration. Women are particularly vulnerable, often forced into early marriage or unsafe work. Without intervention, these cycles of poverty and insecurity continue, leaving communities unsafe and families struggling.

This project will train participants in sustainable fish farming, providing hands-on guidance from local experts. Trainees will learn to manage ponds, feed fish efficiently, and run small businesses profitably. Beyond income, fish farming provides affordable nutrition for families, supporting better health in rural communities.

Over time, these young farmers will establish small enterprises, create jobs for others, and share knowledge with their peers. Women will gain independence, supporting children’s education and household needs. As more youth pursue legal livelihoods, communities will experience reduced crime, improved safety, and stronger local economies.

At this stage, donations are limited, but with your continued support, we can empower these young people, transform their futures, and strengthen families and communities across Nigeria.

With thanks,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
