Empower mothers to build their careers

Dear friends, we are happy to share that your donation has greatly helped Alena and her son Vlad. 

Around eight years ago, the family met with a terrible car accident where Vlad was seriously injured. The boy sustained severe injuries to his brain, spent five months in a coma and was left permanently disabled as a result of the accident. Over the years, there has been a long journey of Vlad’s various treatments and operations in the hope of improving his condition. Two years ago, the family underwent another major setback with the start of the war. Escaping the shelling, they had to leave their home in the East of Ukraine with nothing but essentials and sought refuge in another area of Ukraine. Their city has been destroyed, and their house was damaged in the fighting. The family lost everything. The situation is very, very tough as the family scrambles to get by, build a life in a new place and afford treatments for Vlad. Alena is offering nail services to make ends meet and get help for her child. 

Thanks to your generosity, we purchased professional supplies worth UAH 7110 (USD 194) to support Alena. As part of our other project with GlobalGiving, we also helped Vlad attend essential physical rehabilitation treatment. 

This family has gone through a series of terrible events, and your support means the world to them. We are very grateful for your choice to donate to this project. It supports the livelihoods of families who have been on the brink of survival in Ukraine.
