This spring we began a new series on hostage justice in Japan.
In Japan, the members of the industrial unions have been arrested and prosecuted for simply asking companies to obey the law and improve working conditions. In this oppression, the leader of the union has been detained for 644 days.
In many of these cases, the union members were found innocent.
The reason why prosecutors and police fabricated cases is because they want to destroy the union.
Now we are preparing an English translation of the series. Please show your interest in this serious human rights violations in Japan.
We’ll update new articles, event information, and the inside story of our journalists in our English newsletter.
