Thank you for your continuous support.
We’ve launched our new series, "Buying Policy."
In Japan, even when large corporations gain profits, non-regular employment continues to rise, and workers are pushed further into hardship. Corporate tax rates are cut, while the consumption tax is increased. In the end, policies consistently emerge that favor big business.
At the root of this imbalance lies political donations from corporations to the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).
This series analyzes over half a century of corporate donations to the LDP, uncovering the mutually dependent relationship between Japan’s ruling party and major corporations.
Globally, a similar structure is seen—wealthy companies and individuals maintain close ties with governments—and in some countries, blatant pro-corporate policies are being enacted.
To challenge this system, we believe it is essential to thoroughly visualize these relationships using data. That belief drives our commitment to this reporting.
We sincerely ask for your continued support.
Thank you.
