Dear Reader,
2025 has been a whirlwind year of news and growth. Before we turn the page to 2026, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for being a part of the Tansa community. Your attention and support have been our greatest motivation throughout the year.
This year, we published over 90 deep-dive reports on water pollution, hostage justice, concealment of public document, digital sexual abuse and student bullying. We are also proud to have launched our new investigative series(Japan Towards Ultranationalism, Adults in the Student Suicide Case), which has allowed us to explore critical issues.
Our coverage of the Japanese far right party “Sanseito” received overwhelming feedback and highlighted the actual situation of Japanese politics.
Some of these works have been recognized and earned several national awards for excellence in journalism.
These works take time, resources, and dedication, and your support has given us the freedom to pursue them without compromise.
Furthermore, we have strengthened our international partnerships. In November, we participated in an international conference which gathers investigative journalists from around the world. In which we learned specific reporting techniques and discussed possibilities for collaboration.
We deepened our connections with news organizations worldwide and identified common challenges. We plan to report on these as specific stories starting next year.
Looking ahead to 2026, our commitment to uncovering the truth remains stronger than ever. We have many ambitious projects in the works, and we can’t wait to share them with you. Thank you for being the reason we do what we do.
We wish you a happy holiday season and a wonderful New Year.
