Dear Supporters,

We are delighted to share some inspiring updates from our project Planting Trees for Sierra Leone's Future. Thanks to your generous contributions, we have made significant strides in reforesting the community and empowering local women as leaders in conservation.

Since our last update, the dedicated women in Sierra Leone have planted thousands more saplings, bringing life and resilience to their communities. This year alone, 100 additional women have been trained in reforestation techniques, joining forces with those trained last year to plant a total of 3,000 trees in 2023. These trees are already making a profound impact: they are providing critical buffer habitat for wildlife and offering essential protection against surging floodwaters that threaten the community during extreme weather.

But the benefits of this reforestation effort don’t stop there. These newly planted trees include species that produce sustainable sources of food, such as mangos, maringas, and chestnuts. This not only strengthens food security but also provides a long-term, eco-friendly way for families to nourish themselves and their community.

Thanks to your unwavering support, the women of Sierra Leone are leading the way in building a future where both people and nature can thrive. By planting these trees, they are not only protecting their community and local wildlife but also cultivating a sense of pride, ownership, and resilience. Your contributions have empowered these women to be the change they wish to see, and they are determined to carry that vision forward.

We couldn’t achieve any of this without your support. Your generosity has made it possible for these women to gain the skills and resources they need to create sustainable, lasting change in their communities. Thank you for being an integral part of this journey.

With heartfelt gratitude,
The Women for Conservation Team
