It is with great pleasure that we present to you a comprehensive overview of the National Girl Summit themed "A united society free from Child Marriage." This crucial event gathered a lot of stakeholders, advocates, and leaders committed to eradicating child marriage and ensuring a brighter future for our girls.
The summit served as a platform to raise awareness about the harmfull impacts of child marriage on girls' education, health, and overall well-being. Through engaging panels, speeches, and childrens’ parliament, attendees gained a deeper understanding of the issue and the urgency to address it.
Joy for Children Uganda hosted a legal and policy frameworks to end child marriage in Uganda breakout session at the summit and discussions among policymakers, legal experts, and NGOs led to the formulation of actionable recommendations. These recommendations aimed to strengthen legal frameworks and policies to prevent child marriage and protect the rights of vulnerable girls.
Emphasis was placed on empowering communities to actively combat child marriage. Workshops and breakout sessions provided tools and strategies for local leaders, parents, and youth to engage in prevention efforts within their communities.
Witnessing the enthusiasm and dedication of young participants through the childrens’ parliament advocating for their peers' rights highlighted the importance of empowering the next generation in this fight.
Vibrant cultural displays and performances celebrated diversity while uniting attendees in the common cause of protecting the rights of girls.
The summit's reach extended to a lot of individuals through social media campaigns, media coverage, and community outreach, fostering a broader understanding of the issue.
Our social media campaigns reached a number of individuals, amplifying the conversation and advocacy efforts surrounding child marriage.
The National Girl Summit was a resounding success, generating significant momentum in our collective efforts to end child marriage. Your support has been instrumental in achieving some of these remarkable outcomes.
