Success story of HIV Baby Girl
The baby girl [10years] was born to parents belonging to socio economically poor back ground. They were poor and use to do agriculture. They were the victims of HIV. The parent of this girl died with HIV. After demise of parents,she use to stay with her uncle.He has taken her to hospital to test the HIV status and found that she is also a victim of HIV.
Her uncle enquired about DESIRE Society and he brought the kid to our care centre. At time of her admission , she was underfed and without any treatment for HIV.After admission , she was put on special diet. The HIV related medication was initiated immediately. She has never gone to school with her parents. Now baby girl is studying in the DESIRE in campus school and want to complete her studies. Her uncle used to visit our care centre to know the status of the kid initially but now stopped turning to the centre and inquiring about her health condition.
The DESIRE Society is committed to provide all kind care and support to see her progressing in coming days. Her CD4 count was 200cells/ml which was supposed to be at least 500 level. He was offered proper counseling, treatment and medicines for opportunistic infections (OIs) by our medical team. she is also able to receive round the clock health care and monitoring. Baby girl was put on ART (Antiretroviral Treatment, a lifesaving drug) as her CD4 count was low at admission time. Now with proper medication , the CD4 count has gone up many folds.
