Caring of Anuroop, HIV boy at DESIRE Hyderabad Care Home ,IDA Bollaram

Anuroop, HIV boy [7years] is enrolled with DESIRE Hyderabad Care Home level, IDA Bollaram. He has come around two years back with death of both HIV parents. His father was  shop keeper and mother was a teacher. With un disclosed matter of his HIV status , Anuroop’s mother got infection. As a result of mother to child transmission , the boy was born with this dreadful disease.

The HIV boy , with loss of both HIV parents was put with his maternal grand parents. The story did not ended there as they faced a lot of resentment from the community because of his HIV status. They are forced by community to search for a place to admit this boy. The DESIRE Society , working was introduced to them. The child was brought and admitted in care home , IDA Bollaram. The food and medical balance has given him a new life.

The grand parents keep visiting him once a while but unable to take him back like any other child in society with discrimination due to HIV status. He is maintining CD 4 count and put on ART medication immediately after admission to DESIRE premises.

He has learnt singing / dancing and enjoys the private schooling close to home. The 1^st class admission was possible this year after attending in campus schooling at DESIRE campus for one year. He is growing up as a smart boy with energetic activities in full swing.

He is favorite of his grand parent’s as well as intimately associated with care takers [ 6 HIV women working as care givers for these children at care home ].The future lies in contributory factor of each one of wish wisher’s of DESIRE Society in grooming them as a better citizen of India.
