By Ric Poolman | Director - DigiServe, a project of FCF
Dear Friend,
You are fantastic!! This is our first update since we launched our DigiServe project on GlobalGiving. I know that 2023 is going to be an excellent year because of what you did to help get it started on a solid foundation. Thank you for your gifts! You are amazing and very generous. Our whole team could not be more excited about this year becuase of what you have done to help us get started.
As you know, DigiServe helps non-profits in Thailand struggling with information overload by equipping them with training and digital solutions so that they can multiplhy who they reach. In December, we started working with a new Foundation who is providing care for thousands of children who are refugees from Myanmanr. We trained some trainers who in turn went out to train others from three supporting volunteer organizations. We are staying in close contact as they start entering data to process all of the children in order to ensure they are successful.
Also in December, we launched our first IT Fundamentals class for disabled people. Our 6 students were very enthusiastic and enjoyed the class. We provide lunch for each of the 5 days of classes to intentially try to get to know them better and develop friendships. Here is what two of the studens had to say:
Mr. N, Paraplegic Athlete.
I am one of the students who learned IT Fundamental with Digiserve. I have gained a lot of knowledge and I will expand this knowledge in the future. Thank you Digiserve and Stronger Together for this opportunity .
Miss P, Prosthetic hand.
I would like to thank you Stronger Together Project and Digiserve . For this class, I could learned: Computer Assembly, Networking, Building an app and a website which I have never learned before. Thank you again for having this IT class. I gained new IT knowledge
We hope each one will be able to improve their lives with these skills and we are actively looking for 5 from future classes that will join our development team for an 18 month apprenticeship in web app programming.
In our next update, we will have information on several new apps we are working on and who the Foundations are trying to help with the new apps.
