Update, thank you!

By Karyn Mikkelsen-Tillet | Director Global Partnerships & Communication

Dear friends,

Thank you for your support!  Sharing with you an update of the past advancement of digital inclusion to end poverty - that YOU were a part of of and our perspectives...

In 2023, we continued our mission to offer quality education in the digital field to the most disadvantaged youths in Cambodia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Madagascar.As you know, PN’s work aligns with the following United National Sustainable Development Goals - #1 No Poverty, #4 Quality Education, #5 Gender Equality, #8 Decent Work and Economic Growth, and #10 Reduced Inequalities.

In 2023, we addedGoal #17 Partnerships for the Goals.PN collaborates with and relies on a network of partners where we operate.To be able to reach out to over 9,900 youths facing socio-economic barriers in 2023, in our selection process, PN partnered with local high schools, student associations and international NGOs to be able to reach youths in extremely isolated geographies and to help us cover many provinces. The socio-educational support provided by our educators – from housing to food to medical care, allows our students, the majority of whom have not had prior access to this kind of support, to succeed in their education.

To make sure that PN’s training remains aligned with market needs, we partner with local companies and global companies with branches where we operate.These partner companies fulfill pivotal roles including: helping to update our curricula, providing workshops, and of course, internships that offer critical on-the-job training skills.PN’s training program includes 30% of on-the-job training, compared to traditional vocational training programs, which include 5 to 10%.PN’s training program, which blends technical learning with soft skills learning, such as these internships,gives our students the skills needed for an ever-changing workplace. To remain aligned with current technologies and tools, we are integrating AI workshops into our programs with leading industry partners.

Perspectives for the coming year include :

  • the continuous integration of our innovative pedagogical approach that focuses on
  • the 21st century education approach of critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-
  • solving ;
  • integrating a cross-cutting gender approach in the operational activities ;
  • raising awareness on climate change at our centers;
  • the continuous capacity building and empowerment of local teams.

In 2024, there will be more than 800 youths in our programs.PN continues its actions that employ digital education to break the cycle of poverty by giving these youths access to education, training them to become professional in the IT sector, and accompanying them on their path to employability.
