This project empowers girls in underserved districts of Pakistan by establishing IT and AI Learning Labs. It equips girls with digital literacy, coding, data analysis, and artificial intelligence skills, preparing them for a rapidly evolving, technology-driven world. Through hands-on learning, teacher training, and AI tools, the project bridges the gender and digital divide, impacting over 1,200 girls in the pilot phase and inspiring systemic change in girls' education.
Across Pakistan, especially in rural and low-income areas, girls face limited access to modern IT education. Most government schools lack computers, trained instructors, and digital learning programs. As a result, girls grow up without exposure to digital technology for future careers. In a world rapidly advancing toward artificial intelligence, this lack of access leaves millions of girls behind-restricting their opportunities, self-reliance, and contribution to Pakistan's digital economy.
The Empowering Girls Through IT and AI Education project sets up IT & AI labs with 20 computers, trains teachers in coding and AI, and runs AI awareness programs. Through coding competitions, robotics workshops, and community engagement, it empowers girls to develop technical skills, creativity, and confidence, inspiring them to pursue future IT and AI careers.
The project will create sustainable impact by giving thousands of girls across Pakistan access to quality IT and AI education, reducing the gender gap in technology and fostering innovation. By strengthening schools, teachers, and students, it ensures lasting learning outcomes and serves as a replicable model promoting inclusive, tech-enabled education aligned with SDG 4 and 5.
