Seasons Greetings and a big Thank You for your support!

Seasons Greetings and a big Thank You for your support!

Dear supporters,

looking back at 2025, it was full of wonderful encounters - full of people interested in our project.

At the beginning of the year, I visited a local school, "Evangelische Schule Schönefeld", with a class that was creating an art project around the topics of fascism and war, looking both at WW II and WW I documents. We discussed about the world as it appeared to us at that time, and realized that Umberto Eco foresee quite a few things when he was introducing our project about 30 years ago - quite amazing - and fearful at the same time. In our discussion at the school, we - being Germans of various ages (between 15 and 50) - agreed on the thought that we are not responsble for our past but have the obligation to learn from it and ensure that fascism should never raise from Germany again. Unfortunately, we see such movements in other parts of the world. We sincerely hope that in those countries have learned enough also from German history.

Looking into 2026, we hope to be presenting the school's art project together with our film at other schools and potentially also to church congregations in Berlin, Brandenburg and Northern Germany.

This was another great contact that just happened - on a reception I met a former journalist interested in what we're doing with the Nono Project, who is very involved with the protestant church.

As I wrote in the last letter, I also met the former director of the Konzerthaus Berlin, a close acquaintance of Luigi Nono.

With this note, the team at Fondazione L'Unione Europea Berlin wishes you a happy Christmas season and a very good start into the new year!

Best regards,
