This movement exposes children and guardians to homelessness, exploitation, and loss of dignity, further destabilizing households and interrupting education. Children in Tigray face severe hunger, disrupted education, and loss of family support due to conflict and economic collapse. Over 1.8 million children are food insecure, 1.42 million are out of school, and many have lost one or both parents. Without reliable assistance, these children are at risk of malnutrition, exploitation, and long-term trauma.
We provide $20 per child per month directly to verified guardians, allowing families to remain in their homes and keep children in school. Aid is transferred through a bank, avoiding exposure, long lines, or discrimination. Quarterly monitoring tracks each child's wellbeing and school attendance. With 95% of funds reaching children and a simple, transparent model, this approach stabilizes families, protects children from exploitation, and offers a scalable communitysupported solution.
By stabilizing families where they live, this project keeps children in school, protects them from exploitation, and reduces longterm vulnerability. As the model strengthens and community trust grows, it can potentially scale to thousands of children across Tigray. Transparent systems and low overhead ensure lasting accountability, dignity, and sustainability.
