As we approach the start of disaster season on June 1, Puerto Rico stands at a critical moment and at an opportunity to act with intention and care. The weakening of Federal Emergency Management Agency and broader efforts to reduce public assistance will place additional pressure on families and local governments already navigating uncertainty.
