Project Report: Support for Turkey and Syria Earthquake Relief
The following report outlines the efforts and support provided by HOPE SA Foundation in assisting with the relief efforts for the Turkey and Syria earthquakes. A team of 20 dedicated volunteers comprising medical professionals, rescue workers, and general volunteers was deployed to Turkey on 8 February 2023. The objective was to provide immediate support and aid to the affected regions, focusing on medical assistance, rescue operations, and the provision of essential supplies.
Deployment to Turkey
On 8 February 2023, the team from HOPE SA Foundation arrived in Turkey to provide on-ground support for the earthquake-affected areas. The team consisted of highly trained medical personnel, experienced rescue workers, and dedicated volunteers who selflessly left their families to aid those affected by the disaster. Their commitment and determination was instrumental in alleviating the suffering of the affected communities.
Support and Relief Efforts
The medical team worked tirelessly to provide urgent medical care to those injured in the earthquakes. We provided Medical supplies, medicines, and equipment to local hospitals and clinics to enhance their capacity to treat the injured.
Teams worked in close coordination with local authorities and international rescue teams to locate and save as many lives as possible. The efforts were critical in bringing hope to the affected communities and reuniting families.
Recognizing the immediate needs of the affected families, HOPE SA Foundation procured and sent aid to Turkey through Turkish Airlines, in collaboration with the Turkish Embassy. The supplies included blankets, mattresses, clothing, baby supplies, sleeping bags, and tents. These essential items were distributed among families left without basic provisions due to the destruction of their homes.
Support for Syrian Affected Communities
In addition to the assistance provided in Turkey, HOPE SA Foundation also donated cash to support the affected communities in Syria. Recognizing the scale of destruction and the plight of those affected, Hope SA extended its support to provide much-needed financial aid. This contribution aimed to assist in addressing immediate needs and initiating the process of rebuilding.
Ongoing Support and Future Plans
The devastation caused by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria is extensive, and the road to recovery will be long and arduous. HOPE SA Foundation is committed to making a difference and providing hope to the families affected by these disasters. Hope SA foundation will continue sending aid to assist the affected communities, with a focus on providing long-term support for the rebuilding process.
