Document Human Rights Abuses in Northern Nigeria

Thank you for showing interest in the Document Human Rights Abuses in Northern Nigeria project. At this time, no donations have been received, and field documentation activities have not yet started.

Across several communities in Northern Nigeria, many incidents of violence and abuse happen without proper records. Survivors are left without safe ways to report what they have experienced, and in many cases, their stories are never documented. This lack of reliable information makes it difficult for justice processes to take place.

In remote areas, limited media presence and weak reporting systems mean that serious violations can pass without attention. Families affected by displacement, attacks, or violence are often left without any formal recognition of their situation.

This project is planned to train local monitors who can safely document cases, speak with survivors, and record verified information. Reports will be carefully compiled and shared with relevant bodies, including journalists and institutions that can act on such findings.

When documentation begins, it will help bring hidden cases to light and provide a clearer picture of what communities are facing. Proper records can support future investigations and help push for accountability where it is needed.
