Communities in Northern Nigeria face ongoing violence, forced displacement, and abuses that often go unreported. This project documents human rights violations through field reporting, survivor interviews, and verified data collection. By capturing evidence and sharing it with the public and policy actors, we aim to protect vulnerable people and push for justice, accountability, and lasting security.
Human rights abuses in Northern Nigeria including attacks on civilians, kidnappings, and gender-based violence often occur in remote areas with little media or legal oversight. Survivors lack safe channels to report violations, and weak documentation makes it harder to secure justice. Without reliable records, abuses continue unchecked and communities remain unprotected.
This project trains local monitors, documents evidence, and records survivor accounts in a safe and respectful manner. We verify information, map incidents, and share findings with human rights bodies, journalists, and policymakers. By increasing visibility and providing credible data, we strengthen advocacy efforts and support actions that protect civilians.
Documenting abuses builds a long-term foundation for justice and reform. Reliable evidence helps future investigations, strengthens legal action, and pressures authorities to protect civilians. Over time, improved accountability can reduce violence, protect communities, and support a culture where rights are respected. Your support helps create lasting change beyond immediate reporting.
