Violins and Cellos-Music in Vietnam

By Sara Nerone | Founder

This is a quick report to let all of you who have supported our music students over the past few years that they are doing an amazing job! It is so wonderful how something that can start out as a small dream can turn into amazing opportunities for these kids. How kids who never imagined even playing a violin or cello could have it become such a big part of their lives.

We are happy to say that Huy is back teaching his students after spending eight months in Saigon studying violin with a professional teacher. He was living and breathing the violin for those months and so loving it. He is now one of our best teachers and so dedicated to learning himself. We are now thinking about 1-2 of our older students possibly going to study in Saigon for the summer with the same teacher. Having this experience really helps them advance quickly!

Last week a small group of us arrived in Vietnam to work on a short film about our bikes for girls program and we are so excited to be visiting with our art classes and music classes this week as well. The kids are just finishing up their exams and then will be free for the summer to work at our summer camp for a couple of weeks and practice and play more together!

Thank you again everyone, and please let us know if you have any questions or would be interested in sponsoring one of our student’s education through high school or college!
