Dear Friends,
Since we last sent you all an update, we have some great news to share. Three of our violin students competed in the district music competition in the province of Khanh Hoa, Vietnam, and each of them won first place in their class! We are very proud of them, and they are certainly happy. We hope you enjoy their photos. They all have been working extrememly hard, coming to music lessons two-three days a week, and practicing in between. This competition made them feel that it has been all worthwhile.
Also since our last email, we were in the process of hiring a new music teacher which we are still working on. We would prefer to hire a trained string teacher, preferably a woman to teach the girls, but string teachers are hard to find in Vietnam. In July, two music teachers from Rhode Island will be traveling over to Vietnam to work with our students and interview candidates for a few weeks, so we are very excited to have them both returning to Vietnam.
Thank you everyone for your continued support, and we will update you again in July, hopefully to introduce our new music teacher!
Have a great start to your summer,
Sara and the RPS Team
