Build a Mangrove Museum & Learning Centre

Bangladesh is a small south Asian disaster vulnerable country. There is at least one or more than one disaster occurs here in Bangladesh since last few years. Cyclone Amphan is such a devastating cyclone that destroyed the coastline of Bangladesh. This was the first ever super cyclone in 20th century in Bangladesh. Cyclone Amphan hit Sundarbans coastal region in the midst of global crisis called COVID 19. Due to Coronavirus, economy of Bangladesh has been broken, thousands of people have lost their jobs and hand to mouth people started living fasting or having very small quantity of food. In such a situation, super cyclone Amphan has broken coastal hope. In this duel crisis affected communities are at a loss. Cyclone ''Amphan'' passed the Bangladeshi coastline by the midnight on 20th May, 2020 with a wind speed of around 160 to 180kph rising to 200kph within 80km of its centre. Thousands hectors of fish and crops farms are inundated by the saline water due to damaged of the coastal embankments, agricultural field destroyed, trees uprooted and houses collapsed. 

These Sundarbans coastal communities are key stakeholders in helping protect our natural environment and work closely with us to conserve our Sundarbans mangrove ecosystem in Bangladesh. If they are not safe, it will be impossible for us to conserve the nature and ecosystem. So, their rehabilitation is a must.

This is why Bangladesh Environment and Development Society (BEDS) is trying to raise fund for the affected Sundarbans coastal people of Bangladesh. Target of the project is 64,320 UDS and so far 680 have been raised from 9 respectable donations. We want to raise the entire target fund as soon as possible and support the affected community. 

This is an absolute prayer to the donors to stay beside the Cyclone affected and COVID 19 vulnerable community and assist them to return to their general life.
