Melting, shaping and soldering: updates from the goldsmith training in Kabul, Afghanistan
Start of training in April 2024: after the trainees were familiarized with tools and equipment, they learned the theoretical basics. With this knowledge, they began to produce their first chain designs and develop their skills.
6 months later: in addition to the necklaces, the trainees are now able to produce rings, earrings and bracelets in various designs. By learning new methods and consolidating their previous knowledge, they are preparing for their final exams in November.
At the same time, our partner organization is organizing English lessons and workshops in design and marketing for the 15 men with physical disabilities. These are intended to make it easier for them to enter the world of work later on and increase their opportunities for independence.
Thank you very much for your support.
All the best,
Vanessa
