Hello Everyone,
We hope you’re all doing well! Thank you so much to those of you who donated to our art program on Giving Tuesday. Your support means the world to us—and of course to the young student artists who benefit from the program every week.
Right now, 144 girls attend art classes twice a week, and they rarely miss a class. They adore their two wonderful teachers, Lien and Trang, as well as our volunteer mentors who join them on weekends. Thank you for helping make this creative, supportive community possible.
We Have Some Amazing News to Share!
In August, we submitted 26 pieces of student artwork to the Nakamura Keith Haring Collection’s 17th Annual International Children’s Art Contest. Keith Haring—one of the most influential American artists of the 1980s—devoted his life to using art as a medium for social connection, dialogue, and hope.
The Nakamura Keith Haring Collection Museum in Yamanashi, Japan, continues his legacy by hosting a global drawing contest for young artists ages 6–18. This year, they received 1,640 submissions from 23 countries and regions and selected just 13 winners worldwide.
And we are thrilled to share…
One of our students, 10-year-old Loi, won the Keith Haring Foundation Award!
Loi is a member of the Raglai ethnic minority group and lives in one of the two Raglai villages where we work. She is a quiet, thoughtful student—and a remarkably talented young artist. When her trophy and award letter arrived in the mail, she opened the box with the biggest smile. It was a truly special moment.
We could not be prouder of her.
Thank you all for your continued support over the years. Many of you have helped sustain this program for a long time, and we are delighted to share such uplifting news with you.
Wishing you a wonderful December and a joyful holiday season!
