Friends,
“We would like to increase vegetable production in our cooperative garden.” Astou, who lives in Ouarkhokh, believes that installing a drip irrigation system in the garden site will help cooperative members save money, time, and labor through efficient water use. She loves working in the garden, but knows that an irrigation system will help cooperative members expand vegetable production and earn even more money to support their families. “Our whole community,” Astou adds, “is counting on our partnership with CREATE!”
With your support, CREATE! can install a drip irrigation network to help Ouarkhokh cooperative members fully exploit the land in their garden through year-round irrigated agriculture. This holiday season, consider honoring a loved one by donating to CREATE! in their name. Imagine – your donation will help women like Astou save money, time, and labor through efficient water use.
The agricultural cooperative in Ouarkhokh is currently growing African eggplants, okra, peppers, watermelon, lettuce and cabbage. They sold several hundred pounds of okra and peppers in October. CREATE! field technicians have also been working with a local irrigation expert to prepare the garden site for the installation of the drip irrigation system. With your continued support, we can raise the remainder of the funds needed to complete the installation within the next month. You can make a difference for women and families in Ouarkhokh!
CREATE!’s beneficiaries truly appreciate your donation to help them on their way to economic self-sufficiency! So what’s next? We would love to have you get more involved with CREATE! Send an email to kaitlyn@createaction.org and I will let you know all the different ways that you can help out! Be sure to stay updated with what’s going on with CREATE! by signing up for our email list, becoming our friend on Facebook, following us on Twitter, and checking out our blog!
Best wishes,
Kaitlyn
