In May 2025, our foundation proudly lit a new spark of hope in Haiti with the launch of our Candle-Making Education Program—a hands-on initiative designed to give young adults and community members practical skills for self-sufficiency and entrepreneurship. The workshops brought together eager participants ready to learn a new trade that could help them create a sustainable source of income.
This program is about more than just making candles—it’s about igniting creativity, building confidence, and opening the door to opportunity. Participants learned the complete process of creating simple, functional candles, gaining practical skills they can use to support their families, start small businesses, or contribute to local cooperatives.
The atmosphere was filled with curiosity and determination as attendees carefully measured, poured, and molded their first candles—each one a symbol of new beginnings. Beyond the craft itself, the workshops encouraged teamwork, problem-solving, and resourcefulness, planting seeds of self-reliance and hope.
We believe that skills-based education is a powerful path to empowerment. Each new skill learned is a step toward financial independence and a stronger, more resilient community.
