Limited access to education and employment opportunities significantly contributes to the ongoing cycle of poverty in Haiti. This initiative aims to empower more than 50 young adults living primarily in Carrefour, Haiti. We offer them skills training, community educational events and support to start micro-businesses, along with access to free educational materials and equipment.
Haiti faces a multitude of social and economic issues that have persisted for decades, contributing to its status as one of the poorest countries in the Western Hemisphere. These challenges have made it extremely difficult for young adults to complete a training and find a job. According to United Nations (2023) half the population lives on less than $2 a day. This project will affect more than 500,000 people living in this area, helping them to meet their basic needs.
This project aims to support young adults in learning a vocational skill and launching a microbusiness. We will not only cover the training fees but also provide support for associated costs, including equipment, transportation, and educational materials. Additionally, we plan to host or co-host community educational events where individuals can learn various aspects of entrepreneurship. This opportunity can serve as a stepping stone for them to pursue their bigger dreams and aspirations.
Joining forces to uplift the underserved will benefit everyone, considering our interconnected world. This project aims to empower 50 young adults by teaching them valuable skills and inspiring over 200 individuals to start their own business ventures through our entrepreneurship community events. These initiatives will promote self-reliance, instill hope, and foster community resilience, leading to poverty alleviation and an enhanced quality of life for these young adults and their families.
