Village vitals: Healthcare reaches villages because of YOU

Beyond the shadows: Manjula gets healed
Beyond the shadows: Manjula gets healed

Dear donors,

Greetings from Bangalore Baptist Hospital.

Thank you for your continued support. Your contributions have made a significant difference in the lives of those we serve, and we cannot thank you enough for your compassion and dedication. Your donations have enabled us to provide essential services and support to those in need. From medical treatments to counselling services, your contributions have helped individuals like Manjula, Krishna, and Venkateshappa find hope, healing, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Krishna had diabetes for six years without understanding how it could affect him. But when he finally experienced the consequences of high sugar levels, he realised his carelessness. So, he decided to visit our mobile clinic in his village for help. Now, Krishna takes his medicine regularly and oversees his diet. His sugar levels are back to normal, and he's back in his Ragi field—the only source of income for his family. With his loving wife and two children, Krishna is healthy and no longer misses his check-ups.

Venkateshappa, a 62-year-old man, struggled to find a solution for his high sugar levels. He climbed many clinics and hospitals but couldn't find relief. Fortunately, our healthcare worker referred him to Mother Theresa Hospital, where he received proper assessment and treatment. Venkateshappa works as a Secretary in a Food Ration Society and now goes to work regularly, thanks to the help he received.

These stories show us the importance of timely medical help and how it can positively impact our lives. Krishna and Venkateshapp's experiences remind us that we can overcome health challenges and lead fulfilling lives with the proper treatment and self-care.

Manjula, battling depression for two years, reached out for help. She described feeling isolated, losing her sense of taste, and enduring sleepless nights plagued by nightmares. She said, "Please help me." Unfortunately, she discontinued her previous treatment due to the challenges of distance, which required time and money for travel. With our counselling support, Manjula realised the importance of seeking professional help. She agreed to visit a psychiatrist at our Main Hospital; since then, eight months have passed. During this time, Manjula's family has noticed a remarkable transformation in her. She now sleeps peacefully, enjoys a healthy appetite, and is no longer burdened by depression. She has even taken up work in a garden, finding joy and purpose in her daily activities. Cooking for her grandchildren, a task she had not engaged in for years, has become a newfound source of pleasure for her. For Manjula's continued progress, her husband ensures she always attends her routine check-ups.

Manjula's story highlights the significance of seeking help for mental health concerns and the transformative impact that appropriate treatment and support can have on an individual's life. Through timely intervention and dedicated care, it is possible to alleviate the burden of depression and rediscover the joy of everyday activities.

We assure you that we utilise your donations effectively and responsibly. Every dollar goes towards making a positive impact and improving the lives of those facing various challenges, whether physical ailments, mental health struggles, or financial hardships. Your generosity has not only transformed individual lives but has also contributed to building stronger and healthier communities.

Your compassion and belief in our mission inspire us to keep pushing forward and continue making a positive impact on the lives of others.

Gratefully,

Carol
