We are writing to update you on our ongoing efforts to enhance Early Childhood Development (ECD) learning in Zimbabwe. In collaboration with local partners, we are providing resources, training teachers, and assisting in the development of schools in areas where children otherwise lack access.
Our school in Zimbabwe is a beacon of hope for over 600 children, 321 of whom are day scholars. These dedicated students walk to our school daily, some covering distances of over 8 miles one way. Despite the challenges, their thirst for knowledge is inspiring.
However, we have recently faced some hurdles. Our donations have significantly slowed down, and this has impacted our operations. We understand that times are challenging, but we want to emphasize how crucial your support is to our mission. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to our goals.
Currently, donations to this project have been prioritized to fund a hot meal every day for these children, as often this is the only food they will get. This year, we are hoping to cut costs of the food bill so we can return to funding a school uniform and stationery for each of the 321 day scholars. Unfortunately, the majority of them come to school without a book, limiting their learning.
In fact, a donation of just $20 can fund 15 ECD English books for a local school, directly impacting the lives of these children.
