Around four months after the earthquakes in Turkey and
Syria, people in the affected areas still need help.
20 water tanks for the people of Hatay
The need for drinking water is particularly high. The alliance
oganziation of Aktion Deutschland Hilft, LandsAid is currently
organizing and financing the installation of 20 water tanks for
people in hard-hit areas in the province of Hatay. Each of these
tanks can hold 1,000 liters of water.
Many people have no shelter, no clean water and no access to basic
necessities. The infrastructure for water supply and water disposal
is also damaged in many places. A supply of clean water is very
important in addition to the creation of sanitary facilities and
hygiene protection measures.
Cooperation with local partners
LandsAid is therefore providing the two organizations Chamber of
Mechanical Engineers in Iskenderun and Collective Coordination
Association in Samandag with ten water tanks each, including the
first filling.
In agreement with the local authorities, the canisters are set up
in container camps and tent cities where the many people who have
become homeless live in temporary emergency shelters.
But other residents of Iskenderun and Samandag who have no access
to drinking water can also use these water sources, emphasizes the
LandsAid Managing Director.
The employees of the two partner organizations ensure that the
canisters are always filled with fresh, clean drinking water.
These and many other projects are made possible by your donation.
