Current projections are that 36 million people have been impacted by the ongoing drought and hunger crisis in the Horn of Africa: 24.1 million in Ethiopia, 7.8 million in Somalia and 4.1 million in Kenya. Over 16 million people are also facing severe water insecurity coupled in addition to a recent cholera outbreak and the displacement of over 1 million refuges and IDPs. Action Against Hunger continues to respond with lifesaving services including screening 335,475 children for malnutrition, providing curative services to 342,674, vaccinating over 220,00 children to measles and other diseases, and providing pre-natal care to nearly 60,000 pregnant women. We continue to provide critical services to those in need through the support we receive from donors like you. We are also one of the most efficient charities you will find: over 91 cents of every dollar goes directly to our programs. Please see the attached situation report for additional details.
