A Cleaner Community, a Brighter Future

Making Ecobricks

The Angel Projects' Ecobricks Project continues to thrive and has become a great way to teach the community about conservation and to create bonds among the community members as they work towards a common goal.  It has been amazing to see the community come together to collect trash and throw their garbage away in TAP's special bins located throughout Rubuguri.  Some community members even come by the TAP house to help with the making of the ecobricks!

TAP's Ugandan staff members dedicate specific time on Wednesdays and Fridays to work on creating the ecobricks in order to build up a supply of the bricks for our wall construction project.  We want to ensure that we have enough materials to complete the project while simultaneously reducing plastic waste throughout the village.  Our staff members are often joined by members of the community who are willing to volunteer their time to create a cleaner, healthier living environment for everyone in the village.

Creating ecobricks requires proper sorting, cleaning, and compacting of plastic materials to ensure the bricks are durable and safe for use in construction.  TAP follows specific guidelines for creating high-quality ecobricks, and we're also able to use this process to involve community members with our organization in a very meaningful way.  This project not only helps the environment and cleans the local common areas, but it promotes awareness about plastic waste and its potential uses.

At The Angel Projects, we believe that a cleaner community and a healthier environment will lead to a brighter future for the coming generations in Rubuguri.  It is so exciting to see both parents and children participate in local conservation--they are truly investing in their own future in a very practical way!

Thank you to all our donors who continue to support our conservation efforts in Rubuguri.
