The Angel Projects' Ecobrick Project continues to thrive in Rubuguri! The whole village contributes by using the Angel Projects' trash bins that are located throughout the area for their soda bottles and other plastic waste. Then, TAPU staff members collect the waste, clean it, and use it to construct the Ecobricks. As you know, we've been using these bricks in the construction of benches and the walls around our compound.
This summer, we are excited to try out two new designs. One is a new style of bench that is more comfortable and aesthetically pleasing, and the other design is a trash bin that is actually made out of the Ecobricks themselves. We plan to build enough bins to replace the old ones around the village. Our hope is that seeing a bin made is made out of the Ecobricks will encourage even more community members to participate in the project.
The Ecobricks Project is a great way to teach villagers about conservation as well as give them ownership in cleaning and caring for their environment. Thank you to all our supporters for helping make our work in Uganda a reality!
