Autumn is here, and harvest time is in full swing in Uganda! Of course, Angel Projects staff members continue to grow nutritious vegetables and herbs all year round, thanks to our greenhouse constructed of repurposed 2-liter bottles! Although our ecobrick construction is currently on pause, the project that first led to the birth of the Ecobricks Project continues to thrive. Our staff members have been successfully growing and harvesting peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, potatoes, and many other vegetables which have been essential in providing nutritious food to the members of our Elderly Project.
The greenhouse has also been vital in teaching the Rubuguri community about repurposing garbage and caring for their environment. Because of the work done in our environmentally friendly greenhouse, many community members have joined us in cleaning up the community, disposing of trash safely, and creating ecobricks. We have even seen some ecobrick construction unrelated to that of The Angel Projects taking place within the area. One great idea can have a ripple effect throughout the entire community!
Our staff members continue to meet with community members to collect trash, wash it, and construct ecobricks. We are currently stockpiling these bricks at our compound as we brainstorm possible new construction projects. Do you have a creative idea? Let us know!
As always, we want to send our sincerest thanks to our generous supporters who make all our projects possible -- we can't do it without you!
