Thanks to your precious contribution, we have purchased a new mogogo for a family living in a small rural village near Zagher. The family, identified by our local partner with the village committees, is composed of a young mother, Afet, who, left alone by her husband in military service, must take care of the growth of her 3 children. Like many other houses, called "tucul" or aguudò in the Tigrina language, the house is really precarious: it is a hut with a thatched roof, without water and toilets, but with only internal partition that separates the sleeping area from the zone day. This, where animals are often collected during the night, acts as a kitchen and, furnished with simple shelves dug into the mud and clay walls, was almost uninhabitable because of the strong concentration of smoke and ash generated by the traditional oven.
Thanks to the channeling of the new ecological oven Mogogo, and its children can now breathe better and is no longer subject to constant problems in the eyes and respiratory tract. In addition, the easy ignition prevents the use of kerosene, expensive and dangerous especially for children most at risk of burns.
The construction of the oven involved and other women in the village who, having learned the technique, are now able to reuse it autonomously.
Afet and her family thank everyone for this precious help that changed their lives and, on the occasion of the inauguration of the oven, they invited everyone to share with them the first injera cooked in the new oven.
Even without the smell of Injera, we also take the opportunity to thank you for the important contribution: even with little you can really change the quality of life of many people
