Hello folks,
It is warming up everywhere and we hope that you are relishing the sunshine and going on lots of bike rides, hiking on trails or enjoying other outdoor activities you love most.
Our preschoolers have also been out and about, enjoying the outdoors. In March, the Chittagong Preschool held its annual sports program. A total of two hundred students participated in the program, which consisted of a dress up competition and some fun games, other than sporting activities. Among many activities, kids enjoyed 50 meters racing, frog jumps etc. It was a great opportunity for the students to enjoy the outdoors.
The Preschool also celebrated National Children’s Day on March 17th. To create another fun day for the students, a cultural program was organized for them. Students participated in this program with their parents. Singing, dancing and poetry competitions generated lots of laughter and revelry for the little ones.
The fun did not end here though! We are so thankful to the Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University for arranging a visit to the Zoo for the children. We are especially grateful for the support of Dr. Md. Shahadat Hossain, who works as Veterinary Officer at the Zoo. Other than organizing the visit, he also distributed snacks to the students. This group consisted of sixty-five students- a smaller group was taken to make it more manageable for the staff and to ensure the safety of the students. The visits will continue with more groups visiting until all the students have had a chance to go to the Zoo.
The teachers on the other hand, were engaged in more serious stuff- albeit, in a fun environment. In Halishaher, a full day training was organized for them with the objective of revising and reinforcing the preschool yearly syllabus, providing guidance in Bangla language teaching and letter writing as well as in Bangla and English poetry.
The students were the recipients of some interesting knowledge as well. Some of them now know what blood group they belong to, thanks to BADHON, the student chapter of Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Science University. Badhon organized free of cost blood group testing to determine the blood group of 263 students. Knowing the blood type will greatly help in receiving any future medical assistance. Thank you to BADHON for undertaking this initiative for our little ones.
Thank you for bringing sunshine into the lives of these beautiful children. By supporting this project, you show that you care and how much the education of a child means to you. Make someone else care too by sharing this project with your friends and family.
Ciao,
Your OBAT family.
