Dear Sponsor,
Thank you for your continued support of OBAT Pre-Schools in Chattogram. Your generosity is creating lasting change in the lives of children who now have the opportunity to learn, grow, and dream. We are excited to share highlights from the past quarter:
Academic and Enrichment Activities
Throughout the months of April to June, our preschoolers participated in a variety of engaging and developmentally enriching activities, guided by a structured and stimulating syllabus. These included:
Literacy & Language: Introduction to Bangla letters (, , , ...) and English alphabets (M to Z)
Math Concepts: Recognizing numbers from to and understanding comparative values like big-small, more-less, before-after
Thematic Learning: Names of fruits, vegetables, fish, flowers, colors, seasons, shapes, and classroom objects through real-life images and visual aids
Creative Expression: Oral storytelling, music, poems, and acting sessions, encouraging self-expression and confidence
Teacher Development
To ensure a high standard of education, we organized:
Regular Teacher Meetings focused on improving student attendance, academic performance, hygiene practices, discipline, and syllabus implementation.
Handwriting Training Workshop: A specialized training session helped teachers enhance their English and Bangla handwriting skills, ensuring they can better model correct writing techniques for the students.
Parental Engagement
We also held Parents' Meetings, creating space for dialogue on student progress, health, hygiene, discipline, and learning milestones. These meetings strengthen the home-school connection and encourage a supportive environment for the children.
Student Enrollment
During this reporting period, a total of 157 students were enrolled across our three preschool centers in Chattogram. Of these, 77 were boys and 80 were girls. We are proud to report minimal dropout, with only two students discontinuing their enrollment across all centers.
Success Story: A Little Learner’s Journey
"I go to school every day with a big smile."
– Fahim. Name changed to protect identity
Six-year-old Fahim (name changed for privacy) wakes up every morning with excitement in his heart. For him, school isn’t just a place to learn—it’s where his dreams begin.
Fahim’s father works tirelessly at a cloth shop to support their small family, while his mother lovingly nurtures their home. Despite the challenges of limited resources, the family radiates warmth and unity.
Fahim adores his elder brother, who is in class five, and together they study and play football. His eyes light up when he talks about his favorite treat—chocolate ice cream!
At OBAT, Fahim has discovered a passion for learning. He is learning to write, read, and express himself through stories and songs. His favorite part of the day? Listening to stories from his teacher.
“I want to grow up to be a good person and make my parents proud,” he says with a spark of determination that gives us all hope for a brighter future.
Thank you for being a part of Fahim’s story.
Note: Names and some identifying details have been changed to protect the privacy of the child and their family.
We are deeply grateful for your commitment to these children’s education and futures. Your support empowers not just students like Fahim, but also their families and communities.
With gratitude,
The OBAT Helpers Team
