Friends from around the world,
Hope you are well and enjoying the beautiful colors of the fall and the milder or in some cases, chilly temperatures. There is not much fall foliage in Bangladesh but temperatures have certainly fallen a bit which is sweet relief from the hot weather that prevails for much of the year.
In this report, we want to introduce you to two precious children who are studying in OBAT’s Preschools because of your support, Jesmin and Jumman. Here is what the children shared about themselves, in their own words:
“My name is Jesmin. I study in Kindergarten at OBAT Preschool. I like going to school and to study. My father’s name is Jashim. My mother’s name is Tabassum, she is a housewife. My father works as a night security guard. My favorite color is red and I love to eat Mangoes. When I grow up, I want to become a teacher.”
“My name is Jumman. I am six years old. I have one brother and two sisters. My father’s name was Salahuddin; he died four years ago after he had a heart attack. My mother’s name is Mehrun Nessa. She used to stay home and look after us when my father was alive.
We live in Wireless Colony Line, no. 9 in S.B. Nagar. When my father was alive, we lived in better conditions. But since he died, our condition has been miserable. My mother leaves for work early in the morning, she works in other people’s houses as a maid and comes back in the evening.
I like to go to school regularly. I like to study and love to play football. I like to eat fish a lot and my favorite fruit is Jackfruit. My favorite color is yellow. When I grow up, I want to become a doctor.”
Thank you for caring about the lives of so many young children. Your support is very special as it enables them to learn and to grow and reach for their dreams.
Please share this project with your friends and family and invite them to learn more about OBAT and its educational projects.
Cheers,
OBAT team
P.S. no last names of beneficiaries were used in this report
